Hamid Mir Biography

Hamid Mir is the name of hard work, devotion, and success. He is the most popular personality in Pakistani Journalism. Hamid Mir is not only a journalist but also a TV anchor, columnist and investigator reporter. He was born in Lahore city, the capital of Punjab (Pakistan). He completed his secondary education at Laboratory School New Campus and Government Central Model School Lahore.

Hamid Mir Career:-

He started his career as a Sub-editor Daily Jang Lahore in 1987. He is not only a sub-editor but also a intelligent reporter, feature writer and edition incharge. With the passage of time, Hamid Mir wrote urdu columns for Daily Jang, as well as in English also. He is the leading journalist in Pakistan. He became more famous when he interviewed Usama bin Laden after 9/11 attacks. He interview Usama bin Laden with lot of courage and professionalism.

Hamid Mir interviewed many international leaders like Tony Blair, Colin Powell, Nelson Mandela, Hillary Clinton, Javad Zarif and many more.

Hamid Mir Family:-

Hamid Mir belong to a vastly educated family. His father Waris Mir is a professor and wrote columns for Daily Jang. Hamid Mir told about his mother that my mother lost his whole family during migration Jammu to Pakistan in partition of Hindustan. Her brother was killed by the mobs and my mother saved her life with the dead bodies of her own relatives.

Hamid Mir father professor Waris Mir died on 9th July, 1987. He joined journalism after the death of his father. Hamid Mir has three brothers. Amir Mir and Imran Mir, two of them also work the same. Not many people know that Hamid Mir wife also worked with electronic media for many years. She worked with PTV and other private channels. Hamid Mir has two children with the name of Arafat Mir and Ayesha Mir.

Hamid Mir Achievements:-

Hamid Mir took Pakistani Civil award Hilal-e-Imtiaz in 2016 for his hard work and passion towards his profession. He also gain Free Press Award in the most Resilient Journalist Award. Hamid Mir also got life time achievement award from the Government of the Pakistan.

Attack on Hamid Mir:-

Hamid Mir performs his professional duties on 19th April, 2014 in Karachi when his car attacked the terrorist. When he left the Jinnah International Airport and sit his car, the shooter his him three times. By the grace of Almighty Allah, Hamid Mir reached hospital in time. With the hard work of doctors and the prayers of the people of Pakistan, Hamid Mir survive and God gave him a new life. Amir Mir the brother of Hamid Mir blame on General Zaherr ul Islam, he was the former ISI Chief. Karachi Police Chief at time Mr.Shahid Hayat confirm that Hamid Mir hit three time by shooter. With the passage of time, Hamid Mir come back strongly and now he hosted his programme Capital Talk from Geo News.
